Welcome!
Welcome to the website celebrating Titular Head, Grinnell College’s annual student film festival.
What is Titular Head?
Titular Head is an annual student film festival at Grinnell College, where students watch short films (up to 5 minutes long) created by themselves and their peers. Before it became as a film festival that we know today, Titular Head referred to an annual student talent competition that were hosted as part of the Grinnell Relays.
Titular Head is a known and beloved tradition at the college. Since its start as a student film festival event in 1989, it has been hosted consistently by student organizing committees. 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of Titular Head. You can find the timeline on the ‘History’ page for more detailed history, and read about some of the past iconic TitHead films on the ‘Notable TitHead Films’ page.
